Anti-Bullying
Anti-Bullying Week
November 14th-18th 2022
'Reach Out'
This week we took part in ‘Anti-Bullying Week’. This year the Anti-Bullying theme was ‘Reach Out’.
We started the week by coming into school wearing odd socks, which linked with the national ‘Odd Socks Day’ and listened to a very important message in our year group assemblies. We spoke about what bullying is and explained how unkind words can hurt just as much a physically hurting.
This week our children have been immersed in lots of fantastic activities, promoting ‘Anti-Bullying Week’. The Nursery children have been able to talk about how everyone is different and then they enjoyed a friendship picnic. The children in Reception enjoyed creating their own pair of odd socks whilst talking about how they are unique. The children in Year 1 have enjoyed learning an anti-bullying rap and the Year 2 children spent time with KS, our Kidsafe monkey, learning how to keep themselves safe and to use their voices assertively to say ‘no’ to bullies.
