Nursery 3's Elmer
On a rainy day in May the children arrived at nursery to discover a baby Elmer the elephant. He was upset because the rain had washed his colours away and he needed help to become a coloured elephant again ready for the Great Elmer Parade later this year. We took up the challenge to help him by exploring different ways to decorate him using paint, pens, collage, natural materials and mud. We also explored creating different patterns and experimented with colour mixing using paint and water. All our ideas were sent to Mrs Collingwood so that we can decide as a school how to decorate him. We read lots of stories about Elmer including Elmer and the Lost Teddy and then organised a teddy bears picnic to celebrate Elmer's 30th birthday with him.
