Mental Health Day 10th Oct 19
Our school was invited to the Annual Award Ceremony to celebrate the achievement for the Sunderland Mental Health Charter Mark. Our school achieved Bronze Level on Thursday 8th November 2018. Two children from our School Council attended the event along with Mrs Taylor and our Wellbeing Parent Governor Mrs Khaled. The children collected the award from the Mayor and Mayoress of Sunderland. The award was shared with children in a whole school assembly on Friday 11th October 2019.
On World Mental Health Day all children in school took part in different activities throughout the day to explore and learn more about Mental Health and Wellbeing in an age appropriate way.
Children had the opportunity to:
- Listen to and read different stories
- Recognise and talk about different feelings
- Learn about the 5 ways of Wellbeing (Connect, Keep Learning, Give, Take Notice, Be Active)
- Discuss who they can talk to if they need help and how they can help others
